ENTANGLEMENT ACCEPTED TO NSI/ MOVIE CENTRAL SCRIPT-TO-SCREEN PROGRAM!
Super fun news, everyone! During an industry session at the Whistler Film Festival today, reps from Corus Entertainment and Movie Central along with The National Screen Institute of Canada announced that Jason Filiatrault (yours somewhat truly) is one of only 5 writers selected for this year’s 2013 Movie Central Script-To-Screen program.
Jason's script Entanglement was chosen from among 250 applications for the program - which will provide robust funding, creative support and industry guidance to fully develop feature film concepts.
Entanglement is described as an “Awkward romantic comedy about a depressed man trying to put his life back together while inadvertently falling in love with a woman who is definitely not his sister.”
Jason’s other recent script “Nearly Wed” is currently in pre-production with Copperheart Entertainment (Ginger Snaps, Splice) and he served as story editor for the upcoming CTV sitcom “Spun Out” starring Dave Foley (Kids in the Hall). Entanglement was also the winner of the 2013 Alberta Writers Guild Screenwriter’s Initiative.
