DARIUS FILMS GETS IN BED WITH “THREE TO GET READY”!

LOS ANGELES / CALGARY (Jan. 28, 2016 ) – Screenwriter Jason Filiatrault (who writes the @SarcasticRover Twitter account) has optioned his latest feature film script “Three To Get Ready” to Los Angeles & Toronto-based production company Darius Films and producer Nicholas Tabarrok. Described as an edgy-but-sweet sex comedy, “Three To Get Ready” tells the story of recently engaged couple Doug and Alberta, who agree to try and have a threesome in an effort to overcome their wildly differing sexual pasts.

“Mostly, I wanted to write something that felt real and funny.” says Filiatrault, “Yes, it’s a comedy about a threesome – but beyond all that, it’s a heartfelt look at love and learning to accept who we are, and that’s what I want to bring to the screen.”

Darius Films, producer of the films Defendor and Art of the Steal, has a history of making audience-focussed movies, and for bringing big-name actors to Canadian cinema. Previous Darius productions have starred Kurt Russell, Woody Harrelson, Jay Baruchel, Kat Dennings and J.K. Simmons.

When it came to choosing a producing partner for his latest script, Filiatrault says producer Nicholas Tabarrok was an obvious choice. “Darius has a great track record of getting movies made, and Nicholas is exactly the kind of enthusiastic, talented producer you want helping push a movie across the finish line.”

Filiatrault’s first feature Entanglement with Silicon Valley star Thomas Middleditch is currently in post-production, and he has previously written for the Rogers/CBC series Young Drunk Punk starring Kids in the Hall alum Bruce McCulloch. “Three To Get Ready” will be Filiatrault’s second feature.
