We’re are very happy to announce that Jason Filiatrault’s half-hour comedy pilot, “Tracy And Unicorn,” was picked up for development this week by CBC. Jay Baruchel (Goon, Knocked Up) is attached to direct.

After a well-received live-reading at Just For Laughs 2017, the spec pilot hit the development market and was snapped up by CBC with an additional script to be written by Filiatrault. Anton Leo has been attached as producer for JFL along with Thruline Entertainment and Feel Canadian.

The series tells the story of outcast Tracy, a bookseller, who finds a magic spell which summons a talking unicorn who will grant her wishes - but only on the condition that she murder anyone the unicorn wants dead. The series is a wry mix of humour and horror and buddy comedy, described as “Dexter meets New Girl.”

If the show is picked up to series, production could begin as soon as fall 2019, or first quarter 2020.
